Melbourne still the world's most liveable city

Melbourne has been voted the most liveable city in the world for the fourth year in a row. I told you it's a nice place to live. Now it's backed up by facts once again. Hooray!

The Economist Intelligence Unit rated 140 cities around the world scoring it on different factors like healthcare, infrastructure, education and culture. Melbourne came in first place for the fourth year in a row, followed by mostly Canadian and other Australian cities. This is the top ten most liveable cities, according to the magazines report:

1) Melbourne, Australia
2) Vienna, Austria
3) Vancouver, Canada
4) Toronto, Canada
5) Adelaide, Australia
6) Calgary, Canada
7) Sydney, Australia
8) Helsinki, Finland
9) Perth, Australia
10) Auckland, New Zealand

And not only is Melbourne the best city to live, it has also been voted the friendliest city, tying with Auckland (New Zealand). Sydney, again, is also on the list, along with Victoria (Canada), Charleston (South Carolina, USA), Dublin, Siem Reap (Cambodia), Cape Town, Seville (Spain), and Budapest. Among the unfriendliest cities in the world are several places in France (Cannes, Marseilles and Paris), Milan, Moscow, Beijing, and unfriendliest of them all: Johannesburg.

So there you go. Melbourne rules. I really can't wait to be back to my favourite city, and when I am I'll be sure to update you with my personal insights and examples of why I think it's so great.

What are the friendliest and unfriendliest places you've come across?
